Though we have so many serious problems to solve in order to improve conditions for so many people (and ourselves), I have a strong sense that our world may just become a much more compassionate community in this coming year. Finally. Those that have contributed to the dire and discouraging situations here and abroad are likely to be shamed into silence this year while the rest of us (most of us, I think) get to work at solving the problems and making our world a better place. At last.

These challenges at hand won't just demand willingness, compassion and unselfishness.

Our work in the world will require strength, perseverance and endurance.
